Campus Lighting Project

"LET THERE BE LIGHT" Campaign

Maur Hill – Mount Academy is pleased to announce the launching of the campus lighting campaign.

The cost of the entire lighting project will be approximately $145,000. Twenty-nine light poles will be added to campus. A $5,000 gift or pledge will purchase a decorative pole, electricity for lighting and a donor plaque. At this time, six poles are sold. We need your help to meet our goal of twenty-nine.

This will improve safety for our students and will help to beautify campus.

Please contact Mick Hundley, Development Director, for additional information.

Annual Fund

Annual Fund Benefactor commits $100,000

In 2008, an anonymous family committed a $75,000 challenge gift to the school’s annual fund. This challenge focused on securing forty-four other commitments of $2,500 a year for three years. This same family increased their original commitment of $75,000 to $100,000! Maur Hill – Mount Academy and its students wish to thank the $100,000 donor and all annual fund supporters!

Technology Updates

In December 2007, the school received a $100,000 gift for technology updates. The updates included twenty-five instructional computers for a mobile lab with a cart, twenty new computers to update our research center, a projection screen to be used for large groups in the auditorium, eight new projectors & cabling, eight new video projectors, nine new document cameras, nine new school pads, eight new wireless electronic white boards for classrooms, and a new server to better meet our needs. These new tools and resources will benefit both our teachers and students in a major way!

Capital Projects

In following the schools motto, “Shaping Those Who Shape the Future,” the schools Board of Directors approved a project of updating the schools 46-year-old science lab area and converting it into a “State of the Art” Science Lab. This project concentrated on the entire science wing located in the Fr. Edwin Watson Academic Building. Two classrooms were refurbished, along with the hall, and a new general science classroom was added to make a total of four classroom areas. The Penning Science Wing was completed just prior to the 2008-09 school year.

Both of these challenges were met. Over $500,000 was raised for the science wing renovation project!!
