At Maur Hill – Mount Academy we pride ourselves on the community that is built from the not only the student’s that fillour hallways, but the parents as well. We encourage parents to be involved in their son/daughter’s education at MH-MA, and an even bigger part of sharing the experience.
Parent-School Communication
Good communication between parents and the school is essential in the education of a student. Some methods that MH-MA uses to keep in touch with parents include the following:
- Progress, quarterly, and semester report mailings
- Weekly email of agenda to parents
- K-12 Planet (Online grade book)
- Academic and Discipline reporting when necessary
- Parent Club meetings
- Raven Alerts (Text messaging of school announcements or emergency information)
- Periodic letters, phone calls, and emails
Faculty and staff contact information is found on the schools website under the Contact Us pages. Parents are encouraged to visit with teachers about their son/daughters progress. Contacting a teacher through email is the easiest form of communication, as they are teaching during the course of the school day and generally unavailable for phone calls. Designating a specific time for a phone conversation or school visit through email is a great approach if unable to answer or address questions through an email.

Parents Club
The Parent Club is organized and presided over by parents of current students at MH-MA. Parents are strongly encouraged to join, as it is a great way to get involved with the school and your child’s experience. The Parents Club holds monthly meetings and has been vital in the support of the school’s dances, concession stands at sporting events, and a variety of fundraisers throughout the year. From the fundraiser the Parents Club has received and granted “wish lists” submitted by teachers, coaches, and other staff members each year.
