Day Students
MH-MA has a student population of 200 students that draws from schools as near as 2 miles away, to schools several states away, and countries overseas. The diverse student body comes from over 75 different parochial, private, and public schools to be challenged, supported, and grow in a faith-filled college prep environment.
Courses are designed for the college bound student, and an environment to support it. There is a combination of three curriculum tracks at MH-MA; regular high school, honors, and college prep. These paths are developed for just the right plan for each individual student. In addition to the honors courses and college credit courses, students are also able to take AP exams.
MH-MA is a Catholic school with deep roots instilled from the sisters at Mount St. Scholastica and the priests and brothers of St. Benedict’s Abbey in Atchison. The school holds close the traditions of our Benediction heritage which is reflected in our school motto; “Ora et Labor” (Pray and Work). The majority of our students are Catholic, but we welcome students of all faiths and backgrounds.
Community of One
MH-MA recognizes that being involved and working towards a unified goal develops an individual of that commuinty in greater ways than on their own. For this, all extracurricular programs are available and integral parts of a student’s total education. The school provides activities to serve various interests and students are expected to participate in them. From the stands to the court or audience to the stage, students have the great opportunity to be an important part and leaders of our teams, clubs, and organizations.
